Although TV weather segments have traditionally been restricted in scope, broadcast meteorologists are one of the top disseminators of scientific knowledge to ordinary people. Now, many stations are beginning to encourage their weathercasters make the transition to a new role, "Station Scientist." This series of quick, engaging, rich media educational units will help facilitate this shift by informing weathercasters about watersheds and providing reusable media assets for them to use both on the air and on their station websites.
Beyond the TV broadcaster audience, this site will also be of interest to educators and general public interested in watershed-related issues.
