Solar-Power Car Showcased at Historic Site

The space-age looking, aerodynamically sleek r3 solar vehicle is in the shape of a wing, and made up of a carbon fiber body with a nomex core. Mounted on the top of the vehicle are solar panels. As the sun's energy hits the panels, the solar cells convert the sun's energy into electricity which is then used to charge the vehicles battery and to run the motor.

(The vehicle operates at 70 kilometers an hour and it runs on 70 watts)

While the solar car remains an experimental vehicle, a future of solar powered cars in Canada is not unrealistic.
